Pass Lake Trail is located 11 miles east of Granite Falls. Travel east on Mountain Loop Highway for 15.0 miles, then turn left (north) on to Coal Lake Road #4060 and continue 4.5 miles to the trailhead. This trail has mountain views, with old growth forest and is 0.5 miles one way and is set at more difficult.
At the start of the trail you will be at an elevation of 3600 feet and climb to 3900 feet. This trail goes through old growth timber and meadows ending at 2.4 acres at Pass Lake. This lake is nine feet deep and offers some fair fishing.
As you go on beyond the lake you end up at Falls Creek. This is where it gets a little rough which the trail is not maintained and vanishes into the brush after 0.5 miles.
